Explain whether the aim is a new look, a warmer room, more control or solving a problem. A cold radiator does not automatically mean the radiator itself needs replacing.
How Jake can help
- Radiator replacement and upgrade enquiries
- Radiator relocation as part of room changes
- Thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) installation enquiries
Choose around the room
Provide room dimensions and details of the existing radiator if you have them. The available wall space and the room’s heat requirement both matter when considering a replacement.
Tell Jake if you have already chosen a radiator, especially a different size or style. Connections and pipework may need changes rather than a direct swap.
Separate upgrades from faults
If a radiator is cold, noisy or leaking, describe the symptom before choosing replacement parts. The cause may involve a valve, system balance or another part of the heating system.
When asking about TRVs, mention the existing thermostat and other controls. Control changes should be considered as part of the system, not just as isolated accessories.
What to include in your enquiry
- Which rooms and how many radiators
- Photos and dimensions of existing radiators
- Details of any selected replacement products
- Current controls and any heating symptoms

Your questions answered
Can I supply my own radiator?
Discuss the product and the work before buying so suitability, connections and responsibility for supplied items can be agreed.
Will a TRV fix a cold radiator?
Not necessarily. Explain the fault so the cause can be assessed first.
Can a radiator move to another wall?
The proposed position and pipework route need to be reviewed before the work is quoted.
