Send Jake the make and model before the planned installation date, especially if you have not bought the appliance yet. Explain whether an existing cooker needs disconnecting and whether any kitchen alterations are underway.
How Jake can help
- Domestic gas cooker installation enquiries
- Replacement cooker connections and disconnection requirements
- Review of the proposed position and existing supply
Check the replacement before delivery
Two cookers with similar dimensions may have different installation requirements. Provide the product details and, if available, the manufacturer’s installation information so the proposed setup can be discussed.
Tell Jake if the old cooker was a different fuel type or if the gas connection has not been used recently. Do not assume that a previous appliance means the new one can simply be connected.
Coordinate the kitchen work
If cabinets, worktops or electrical work are changing, explain who is completing those tasks and when. Agree the scope and timing before arranging an installation visit.
Clear access for the appliance and let Jake know about stairs or restricted routes. Removal of the old appliance and making good should be discussed as part of the quotation.
What to include in your enquiry
- New cooker make, model and fuel type
- Photos of the installation space and visible connection
- Whether disconnection or removal is required
- Delivery date and any kitchen work timetable
Your questions answered
Can you disconnect the old cooker?
Include this in the enquiry so the required disconnection and installation work can be agreed together.
Can I use the existing connection?
That needs to be assessed for the new appliance. A previous connection is not confirmation that it is suitable.
Do you install range cookers too?
Yes, range cooker installation enquiries have their own page with the extra planning details to provide.
